Curtain Blue Blends Indian Rhythms With Indie Pop On 'Wirebound'
20 February 2026
The upcoming 7-track EP 'Kesar' is what Abhishek Bhatia aka Curtain Blue's work has been building towards all along it seems. The fine fabric-draped, local jewellery-adorned persona the New Delhi producer has cultivated, over past releases as well as fashion runway and OTT soundtracks, finally gets married with a sound that is befittingly velvety, polished and rich – as introduced by the EP's lead single 'Wirebound'.
The quality of minimal arrangements and lush horn beds that we found to be Curtain Blue's strongest effort on his previous EP 'S.T.R.I.P.E.S' is built undisturbed by experimentation but rather supported by total conviction in them on 'Wirebound'. To elevate it further, the track combines it with the rhythms of the dholak and emotional melodies from a sarangi.
Unlike most east-meets-west fusions where the Indian influences are forced into preconceived moulds, Curtain Blue starts with the traditional groove and writes over them for a result where the pieces fit naturally and with refreshing ease. The combination creates sonic interest without disturbing the emotional core, and that is the perfect balance.
